Connect the unit to the building's usable entrance
Explain the path from occupied areas to the proposed position, including steps, barriers, and any shared delivery lane. Discuss accessible-use requirements with the responsible property representative and equipment reviewer. Handwashing, supplies, and lighting responsibilities also need to be clear. Avoid placing equipment where a later work phase will force users through the construction area.
Plan for a closure that lasts longer than expected
Give both the intended reopening date and the decision point for an extension. Identify who can confirm that the permanent facilities are actually usable before temporary equipment is collected. Agree how maintenance requests are communicated while several contractors are on site. A plumbing milestone is not necessarily the same as the date the building can release its backup sanitation.
Compare continuity costs across the closure
Ask about delivery, pickup, scheduled cleaning, handwashing, and extension terms. Clarify charges for additional service or repositioning when the building's entrance or reopening date changes.
