Do not treat a household event as commercial disposal
Rapid City's household hazardous-waste information explicitly distinguishes its event from business disposal. Check current eligibility and dates if that program is relevant, but do not place chemicals in a general rental while waiting. Ask the hauler how each unusual item should be handled. A published public event does not promise an ongoing facility, contractor eligibility or inclusion in a dumpster quote.
Control the load throughout an occupied-site project
Give workers and other property users clear instructions about accepted material. Keep unrelated routine trash and recoverable equipment away from the container. Discuss weight limits for roofing, concrete or other dense debris before choosing size. Preserve the loading-door and pickup working space as new materials arrive, and review any proposed public-space placement with the appropriate authority.
Compare the agreed material scope
Request accepted debris, included weight, rental duration, delivery, pickup and exchange terms. Identify business waste and special items in advance. Clarify separate handling, extra days and blocked-access charges rather than assuming all cleanup responsibilities are included.
