Make the keep-and-discard decision before delivery
A tenant, owner and contractor may have different expectations about what is leaving. Mark retained belongings and obtain clear direction before the cleanup begins. Set aside paint, chemicals, batteries, electronics and unknown containers for item-specific advice. Describe removed shelving, fixtures or other building components separately so the provider can assess the proposed load rather than a vague household-trash label.
Coordinate collection across the handover
Confirm who holds the keys or gate access when the empty container arrives and when the full one leaves. Keep the approach available even if the outgoing occupant has moved away. Do not block access needed for inspection, cleaning or the next resident. If renovation follows immediately, discuss whether that later debris needs a separate container or exchange with different acceptance terms.
North Smithfield turnover-removal terms
Ask for the loading period, accepted materials, weight conditions and final pickup arrangement. Clarify additional-day and exchange terms if possession changes or work is delayed, and identify the contact authorized to approve a revised schedule.
